Alongside the pre-designed furniture produced by Crafted Design it is also possible for us to work with you to create new designs that will meet your individual tastes and requirements more precisely. Some examples of such designs are pictured on these pages and detailed below.

The Vanity unit was commissioned in order to help add a little luxury to a small washroom. The cupboards were of particular importance. In addition to creating storage space in a room that had none, they also neatly conceal the plumbing.

‘The Ultimate Storage’ was an extremely challenging and very rewarding piece of furniture to design. The original brief was as follows:

Design & make a storage solution to neatly house 200 dvds, 200 cds 100 videos, four pieces of Hi-Fi equipment and a sub-woofer. It should have a footprint of 82cm x 67cm and be no more than 239cm tall, and should be designed in a 1970's sci-fi style.

The final design does all this impressively. Although internally there is barely a spare cubic centimetre, externally storage locations are on three faces, so individual faces do not appear overcrowded. Key features include a cd shelf that emerges from behind the stereo components and a cupboard door on the opposite face, which allows access to the backs of the stereo components.

When you spend a lot of time working from home it makes sense to make your Home Office a nice place to be. The requirements for this home office were to hide any sign of box folders, lever arch files and filing cabinets, and to make room for a spacious desk area. The left cupboard is fitted with adjustable shelves while the right cupboard conceals two large filing frames and further shelves. The open shelves are an important feature: as well as making a nice spot for photographs and ornaments, they also break up the shape of the units and stop them from becoming imposing.
